After successful conclusion of the contract for the Montaigne Lyceum in The Hague, the time is ripe for further projects in the education sector. The Knowledge Centre PPP, as part of the ministry of Finance, has decided together with the ministry of Education, the VNG (umbrella organisation of Dutch local authorities), the national education boards and Bouwend Nederland (Builders association) that PPP projects for schools should be further applied.

Potential projects are assessed by using a number of predetermined criteria and – if they are considered likely candidates – supported by resources from the Knowledge Centre PPP.

Application forms and further information can be found on the website of the Knowledge Centre PPP (Dutch only).

TalentGroep embraces this initiative with great enthusiasm and hopes that this will be the starting point for the further development of a market for PPP schools. TalentGroep thinks this can be an important step towards the improvement of building and service standards for the education sector in The Netherlands.

TalentGroep comprises the companies Imtech, ISS Facility Services and Strukton and works together with her partners Bank Nederlandse Gemeenten (BNG), KPMG and Allen & Overy.

Early 2005 construction by TalentGroep of the Montaigne Lyceum commenced. This is the first PPP school project in The Netherlands that transfers the responsibility for design, construction, furnishing, maintenance, finance and facility management through the use of one integrated contract. In August 2006 the secondary school Montaigne Lyceum will be available for 1200 pupils.
