UTRECHT, 7 December 2011 – The sale of 80% of the shareholding of Strukton in six PPP projects by Strukton Groep NV (Strukton) to DIF Infrastructure II (DIF) took place on 6 December. In addition to the minority status, Strukton maintains an active operational involvement during the construction and operation of these projects.
The agreement covers the following PPP projects:
- Kromhout Barracks, Utrecht
- Offices for the Education Executive Agency and Regional Tax Office in Groningen
- Montaigne Lyceum in The Hague
- Offices of the Ministry of Finance in The Hague
- The Harnaschpolder / Houtrust wastewater purification system in Den Hoorn and Scheveningen
- The Maasvlakte-Vaanplein section of the A15 motorway
The agreement in principle had already been signed on 26 October 2011. Customers, financers and shareholder have given their approval.
The growing PPP market is, and remains, an important market for Strukton. Strukton stands out from the crowd in this market for the knowledge it has available in the areas of integral design, lifecycle costing and SPC management. Strukton wishes to release capital with this sale to ensure that it can continue to play a leading role in future PPP projects as a provider of equity. This transaction gives DIF the opportunity to invest in a portfolio of six PPP projects in the Netherlands that will generate a stable cash flow for its investors.
