At the end of the year 2008, DUO² - a consortium comprising John Laing, Strukton and Ballast Nedam –started the construction of the new Regional Tax Office for the Informatie Beheer Groep in Groningen. On the 2nd of February at 15.00 hrs, Mayor Wallage highlighted the achievement of this milestone by performing the official groundbreaking ceremony. He did this by pouring concrete for the foundation of the cellar. At the same time, a contest was launched to find a new name for the building. The winner is offered a balloon flight for two persons over the city of Groningen.

Who invents the new name for the building?
With the new building of the IB-Groep and the Tax Office, a valuable contribution is made to the Redevelopment of the Kempkensberg area and the skyline of Groningen. Citizens of Groningen and surroundings are requested to help to find a suitable name for the building. Ideas can be submitted until March 2nd to info@duo2.nl.
