An international consortium of companies called A-Lanes A12, submitted on 27th March 2009 its request to participate in the tender for the DBFM Project A12 Utrecht Lunetten - Veenendaal. Under the banner A-Lanes A12, Dutch construction companies Strukton and Ballast Nedam join their strengths and experiences in the Netherlands with the renowned international PPP players John Laing and Strabag and the technical installation specialist Croon. Technical, legal and financial advisors complement the consortium.

A-Lanes A12 stands for designing, building, financing and maintaining sustainable infrastructure solutions that will guarantee maximum traffic flow, safety and minimal hindrance during construction for neighbouring residents and companies along the A12 between Utrecht Lunetten and Veenendaal. A-Lanes A12 aims to be an A-brand that will be recognized as such by the road users, residents and all companies that depend on this economic traffic artery. It aspires to deserve the equivalent of an environmental/quality label for its design and implementation of road and traffic lane (re)constructions. "Traffic Lanes with an A-label" is the concept that the consortium A-Lanes A12 inspires.

A-Lanes A12 expects to be admitted end of April 2009 to the Outline Proposal phase of the Competitive Dialogue. All dialogue phases combined will take a year, with the Final Bid according to the current schedule being required for submission in April 2010.
